Get Involved

There's a place for you here.

Medical background or not, an afternoon or a week overseas — MMI runs on volunteers. Pick the way you want to serve.

“MMI is joyful work. I get to serve others, use my professional knowledge, and fellowship with others serving people and serving God. It gives me ‘heart growth’.”

— Carol Saul, volunteer

Six ways to serve.

Fresno Warehouse

Warehouse Volunteers

Sort, inventory, and pack donated supplies for shipment overseas. Mondays and Wednesdays, 9am–12pm, plus our Second Saturday Serve Days. Nurses, students, biomedical techs, drivers, builders, and first-timers all welcome — no medical background needed.

Fresno

Shipping Crew

Join our crew to load a 40-foot sea container with hundreds of boxes and several crates filled with medical supplies and equipment on shipping day. A rewarding day of hard work that sends critically needed resources to a hospital overseas.

Eyeglass Team

Our optometry department reads, repairs, cleans, and sorts donated glasses for medical mission teams. Optometrists, optometry assistants, and anyone willing to clean a lens are welcome. Led by our Board Chairman, Dr. Ralph Handly, OD.

International

Travel Teams

MMI sends medical and construction teams overseas to run clinics and serve alongside local partners. We send a team to Fiji annually and have served in the Solomon Islands as well. Medical and non-medical volunteers are welcome to apply. Coordinator: Brooke Nakashima, brooke@medministries.org.

Fresno

Administrative Assistance

We have a lot of activity in our Fresno Warehouse office: Welcoming folks who are bringing in donations, answering the phone, tracking in-kind donations, serving our warehouse volunteers, updating our volunteer calendar, sending letters of gratitude, and more! You choose the days and time of service, any time Monday through Thursday between 8:30am and 2:30pm.

Venue location to be announced

Annual Gala

Our biggest night of the year includes dinner, and three auction opportunities (live, silent, and dessert) we have fun! Our keynote speaker each year is chosen because of firsthand experience in, and passion for, the medical mission field. We look forward to our 15th Annual Gala to be held in August of 2027. Sponsorships for next year open soon!

Travel Teams
“We're not doctors or nurses or anything in the medical field. As it turns out, we just have to offer what we are, have a servant's heart, and let the team teach us. Matthew helped with first aid; I helped with nutrition and photographed the trip. To be a small part of God's big story changed our lives.”

— Nicole Jackson, Fiji 2023
